**NOTE**
Brooke never had to change ANY diapers the entire time they were in the
hospital. No one is sure how it was managed, but she's quite proud of that
accomplishment.
The new arrival spent most of Wednesday getting bathed, weighed,
poked, and prodded. Daddy was present for most of the painless
parts, but we were both blissfully unavailable during the majority of
his tests.

Mom and baby took a little time to get to know each other.
Brooke keeps commenting that there really needs to be a law against
taking pictures of the mother while she's still in the hospital.

Grandma and Grandpa White came to visit us shortly after he arrived.
So far, he has managed to wrap all of his grandparents around his little
fingers and is loving the attention.

On Friday we celebrated St. Patrick's Day at the hospital. Mom
enjoyed spending the time bonding, but everyone is secretly wondering
whether she had more fun dressing him up in his Irish outfit.
Needless to say, Dad has already started his Notre Dame wardrobe.

They released us from the hospital Sunday morning. While we were
still trying to find a place for all of his things, the cats were
getting to know the newest addition.

Brooke's mother came to stay with us for Austin's birth and first
week home. She was SUCH a big help. Between 4am feedings and
taking care of the loads and loads of laundry, I have a feeling she'll
need a vacation from this vacation.

Speaking of feeding, how cute is he when he takes his bottle? I'm
not sure whether the clasped hands are begging for more milk or if he's
thanking God for his Grandmother.
On Austin's first week birthday, Brooke couldn't resist snapping some
shots of him lounging around the house. What a life!

Chillin' at the pad...or is it on the pad?
