Welcome Madison Lee! Despite concerns that she might come early, Madison Lee was born as scheduled on January 22nd. Since Austin was unexpectedly born via a cesarean section, we planned to have Madison the same way. After several false-alarms, Brooke made it all the way to the due date. Hospital VisitsJust some quick shots (pun intended) from the hospital. Both Grandmother and Daddy were a great help. Once again, Brooke managed to leave the hospital without having to change a single diaper. Madison had loads of visitors during her first afternoon. She met all three grandmothers, Grandpa White, her Aunt Micah, and cousins Maeghan and Aidan. The boys kept the grandmothers busy when they weren't trying to get a look at the baby. Coming HomeWhen we finally packed her into the car seat and headed back to the house, none of us could believe how little she was. Luckily, she has started growing into that huge car seat now :) Announcing her BirthIn the process of getting the "perfect shot" for her birth announcements, we snapped quite a few other pictures that didn't quite make the cut. Luckily, they are just cute enough to make it to the website! She needed a little consoling in the middle of the photo shoot. It seems her brother loves her a bit too much at times :) Here are the two that made the cut. This was another favorite of mine. I should probably have an 8x10 made of this and hang it on Austin's wall to remind him that he really does love his sister. One MonthWell, we've made it through our first month. I can't say it hasn't been trying, but we're starting to the hang of things now. The kids seem to be getting used to each other. Austin basically sleeps through the middle of the night feedings when Madison wakes up crying. I can't say the same for Madison though. Generally, she gets up in the morning when Austin starts screaming "uppies" (up please) from his crib. She just wouldn't look at the camera! Apparently the snow falling outside was WAY more interesting. No, the lion is NOT preparing to eat her. I know these same pictures appear on her growth chart, but I just couldn't help including them again. They are just so darn cute! 6 weeksI can't believe we're already at 6 weeks! Madison started going to daycare this week. Brooke had to return to work, so the little one is getting to meet a whole new group of people. We're not sure whether Austin realizes she's at "school" with him yet...he's too busy playing in the 2 year old class :) So here's a quick look at the littlest one in her 6 week début. I figured that since we snapped Austin in a onesie, we might as well show her little legs as well. This one was tricky to get, believe it or not. She started out by screaming her head off...apparently it's not much fun wearing a onesie in the middle of the winter... Luckily, I had "paci" and her Tigger to make things better. Ah yes, the lion shots. Well, it seems that she's adorable when you prop her up into a sitting position. She's not so cute when she falls over onto her nose and the camera goes flying.... That pretty much ended our jungle photoshoot. Apparently, I'm a fairly demanding photographer because she didn't quite make it to the last shots in her bouncy seat. It seems all the crying up front and after the lion incident she wore herself out. So, you'll have to settle for seeing her snuggly in her bouncy seat where she naps when I'm working. Maddie's MarchWell, it's almost time to start a new page for Madison. Who knew we had so many photos hiding in the camera! Maddie seemed to enjoy Austin's birthday party almost as much as he did. She was passed from relative to relative and even got some time to "chat" with her Great Grandmother Andreasen. Ok, I'm not a fan of pink, but how can you not love it when she just looks so darn cute! Here are a couple of outfits she received. Her Easter pants even had eggs on the soles of her feet! Two MonthsSo her two month pictures weren't any easier to capture than at 6 weeks. I have to say, these shots made me giggle. Austin was throwing another one of his famous fits about getting his pictures taken. Apparently Madison wanted to get in on the act, so she started with her "frownie face". The close up ones got a little blurry, but in smaller form (think iPod or keychain) they are great! Austin was a great help during these shots. Not only did he get her to sit still and stop crying, but she's also mildly amused :)
Look quick...she has a smile on her face! See Grandma, no screaming this time! |
